Nowadays geomembranes are widely used in landfills, mining industries, hydro-power projects, and bio-gas projects as an impermeable material. However, often in the process of installation and usage, it is hard to avoid on site blasting, sharp objects, and scratches that can be damaging to the geomembrane.
How to assist on-site installation crews and inspectors to locate and repair these possible leakage problems effectively and lower overall project risks? Sinotech's new "SHDS" innovation resolves the problem stated above with a simple and economical solution as presented below.

Sinotech SHDS has a signal yellow core layer which can be easily identified when scratches or damages occur to the surface of the membrane.

Sinotech SHLH geomembranes combine the chemical resistance and impermeability of HDPE with the flexibility, elongation, and stress crack resistance characteristics of LLDPE.

Chemical Resistance
With the HDPE outside layers, Sinotech SHLH possesses the barrier properties of a HDPE liner. In accordance with the science of transport phenomena, the layers function like electrical sistors in series. HDPE is the "controlling assistance" to chemical penetration. The outer surface therefore becomes the "bottleneck" to chemical movement throughout the liner.
Stress Crack Resistance
Long term stress crack testing has shown that induced stress cracks will not penetrate the LLDPE layer. This has been expirementally demonstrated by purposely notching one of the outside HDPE surfaces and noting the progress of crack propogation in constant load stress crack testing with stress-crack-accelerating solution. This ductile LLDPE inside layer stops crack propogation as soon as it encounters the HD/LLDPE interface.

Flexibility and Elongation
Sinotech SHLH also offers the flexibility and elongation of LLDPE. This is because the bulk of the liner is the inner core. Sinotech SHLH therefore behaves like LLDPE in standard performance testing. In particular, multi-axial elongation and truncated cone puncture performance are superb.
